Spring has sprung here! Soon my Bouganvilla will look like this again (pic above). I am late with trimming my landscaping back from all the frost damage so I spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon working on it and pulling weeds. I went in the house to get a drink and realized how tired I was so I just sat down and left the whole mess in the front yard! It will wait for me won't it? That's what I will be doing this afternoon, finishing up. Maybe I will take a trip to the garden center to get a few more plants. I am going to go a little more native landscape I think because it's less work and I don't seem to have a lot of energy for gardening anymore.
I guess that's because I spend my energy on these cutie pies :) These pics are a couple of years old but I love them and thought you might like them too. What are you spending your time and energy on these days?
It's so good to have you here! Thanks for coming by!

No Etsy shops or giveaways please. This link closes on Monday night.
Be sure to visit Lisa at Grandma's Briefs to join her linky, GRAND Social, on Mondays. Thank you for linking up with me!

It will still be awhile until outside work exhaustion here but as to your landscaping changes....when I moved here I had tons of flowers and very small bushes added over time. Then tall grasses and more bushes. The bushes are very big now, there is very little weeding required...just trimming once or twice a year of the bushes and grasses. That is alot of work but it is not constant or weekly and I am glad it's turning out that way as I get older and have less energy for all of that! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm spending my time and energy the same way you are! I babysit 3 days each week and some deep cleaning that needs to be done here just has to wait! But that's okay - one day these kiddies will be in school full time and they will want to be with their friends on weekends. You and I will already have made our investment in a strong bond with them and it will pay dividends at that time!
ReplyDeleteThat's when we can garden and clean in leisure!
You deserve to be tired but you must love every moment of it! But J is wrong! Amara's in 3rd grade and I am still running behind schedule so not having her here is much hasn't really helped... to many blogs to read! The dishes will wait!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!
Precious photos. My grandsons have that same Duplo wagon. I look forward to seeing the yard of my desert-dwelling grandbabies, as they have Bouganvilla, too. Such a beautiful bush.
ReplyDeleteLately I've been spending my time on figuring out the site-specific style for new online copy editing gig. It's been a while since I've edited stuff other than my own. As far as yard work and planting, well, here in the mountains, the rule is no planting until Mother's Day or it'll likely freeze. Some of our biggest snow storms come in March and April.
Have fun! Thank you for hosting!
Hi Connie, Love your Bouganvilla, so colorful! And like you, I'm spending most of my energy chasing after my grandson! Thanks for hosting and Happy St. Pat's Day!
ReplyDeleteSooo fun! I'm glad I'm not the only one ready and waiting for spring! Even though the weather man is back to hinting at more snow - oh NO! :) Have a Happy St Patricks Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hostessing the party!
ReplyDeleteMary
I'm waiting one more week before I head to the nursery. We have a threat of a freeze soon. Can't wait to get my hands dirty again.
ReplyDeleteBouganvilla is so popular down here in Florida too!Unfortunately, still spending my energy working full time...but it does pay for the air flight to see the grandson!
ReplyDeleteI love these pics. I've been spending my time interviewing. I just interviewed the editor of a book about breast cancer survivors, B.O.O.B.S. Isn't that a great title?! A Bunch of Outrageous Breast Cancer Survivors Tell Their Stories of Courage, Hope and Healing. Inspiring book about some tough-minded women.
