Nesting

Hello! I am so pleased with how Wow Us Wednesday is going! I am honored to have so many bloggers link up with me. Thank you to all who did! Next Wednesday I will feature some of my favorite ones.

Went to water a hanging plant at the edge of the patio and look what I found? This is a Dove, though I couldn't tell you what kind. Anyone know? She sat there and never moved other than blinking even though I got her wet before I noticed her and her nest! I left her alone but the next morning I was curious to see if she would sit still for a photo shoot. I slowly climbed up a couple of ladder rungs for this pic and she never moved a feather! Look how big her eyes are? If I remember and get the opportunity, I'll photograph the babies and post them.

  2. That is absolutely beautiful! I think the little mother dove knows she is safe around you! Also, I am so enjoying the great numbers of "wow" artists who signed on with you! It is taking a long time to give them all the attention they deserve, but what fun it has been! Your blog has become a wonderful gathering place for talented and very nice people! Thank you!

  4. I think she so brave to just sit there! I was probably within 3 feet of her. I don't want to terrorize her though so haven't watered that plant! I hope by the time the babies are ready to leave I can show you a pic without dried up leaves!

And yes!!! All the linkers has just amazed me! I am so happy about it, thanks for clicking through to see their projects :)

  5. Mourning doves have that little mark on their neck. They land on my chimney, and their "coos" echo down the chimney. You would swear they were in the room with you!

  6. You've captured such a beautiful picture! She's just not moving off that nest, good mother bird! What a sweet surprise to see her! I felt the same way when I saw my first bird splashing and bathing in my birdbath.
