Versatile Blogger Award

Before I get to the award part, I want to tell you about something that I'm having a hard time with; I've been putting off telling you this for a few months actually. I have fybromyalgia and it makes daily living difficult on many levels. I try not to let it have control of my life but I do need to juggle a lot of different things every day. I have had to slow down a bit. It took two trips to the ER, one after passing out while getting my hair cut, to get me to attmit I really had to make a few changes.

We  had all kinds of test run waited several months and redid it all just to make sure. After about a year and a half I guess I am now convinced; I just couldn't believe that I was only tired and exhausted. Everything pointed to nothing more than an over worked Grandmother with fybromyalgia who wants it all and who doesn't know how to rest and say no. I started by cutting down on some work hours, but that wasn't enough. I really did need to slow down even more.

Ok, I get it now. So, as sad as it has made me, I have stopped providing childcare to the extra sweet little ones that I have claimed as my own in addition to my grandkids. My house has not been as full of noisey happy voices, and I am very sadden by this! I still claim the right to be called Gramma by them though and they are still on my holiday gift lists. I do see them often because our family are all intertwined. I have missed adding their pictures on my blog posts along with the other kids.

If I don't stop going on about that I will cry so on with the award. Last week, I got a surprise from Jamie over at Love Bakes Good Cakes, telling me she was passing the Versatile Blogger Award onto me! Wow can you believe it?! I started this blog as a hobby and was so excited when I noticed a few people reading me; and now I have new internet friends all over the place! Isn't the web wonderful? Jamie has become a linker here at Wow Us Wednesday and she has a very nice blog. I would give this award to her if she hadn't aready received it :) Thank you Jamie for awarding me with the Versatile Blogger award!

Now the rules for this award are:

1. Thank the Blogger who nominated you.
2. Include a link to their site.
3. Include the award image in your post.
4. Give 7 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 15 other Bloggers for the award.
6. When nominating, include a link to their site.
7. Let other Bloggers know they have been nominated.

 Here are my random facts:
  1. I have a particular fondness for bunny rabbits and I only have a rare teddy bear around for the kids to play with; all other stuffed toys are rabbits.
  2. I have a lot of food allergys, chocolate is one of them but I just have to have a Hershey bar now and then.
  3. I always wear shoes, even if it's just flip flops. My feet hurt if I don't.
  4. I am a bit of an artist, oil painting is my specialty though I do a little of everything.
  5. Though my natural hair color is burnette, I should have been a redhead :) I would be now if I wasn't allergic to hair dye :(
  6. I grew up thinking I could do anything if I really put my mind to it and only found out recently that that it is just not true. I do, in fact have many limitations.
  7. Though I may seem out going here on my blog, I am actually an introvert who loves to stay home and can go for days without leaving the house if I don't have to.
The hardest part was picking the bloggers I would give the award to; it wasn't easy but here are my picks. Please stop by and check them out.

  1. Thanks for sharing about your health issues. It is so hard when you have an "invisible" illness. People think you are so healthy by the way you look. However, it is a real struggle to get up and go every day.
I have struggled with these "invisible to the naked eye" illness all my life.
My immune system does not cooperate with me.
I choose to live with Joy and do what I can when I can.
I will pray that you are feeling better soon.
Please do stop and take care of yourself.
You may think that is selfish but it will heal you so you can return to doing some of the things you love.
I have had several immune system issues and it seems like when I get one under control another pops up.
Thankfully none has been so bad it has kept me from recouping and living a good quality of live.

    1. Yes it is invisible and that makes it hard. Fibromyalgia is also very misunderstood. I plan to write about it, but keep putting it off. I just want to tell my story and how I cope (or some days don’t) with it. I first started having problems when I was 28 and was diagnosed several years later. But thank you for your prayers and the comment.

  2. I know sharing your health issues wasn't easy but you do have a world of support out here and we are all crossing our fingers that life gets easier.

AND Congratulations on your award!!! That HAD to have brightened your day!

  3. Thanks for sharing your story. I am glad to hear that you were awarded this award. You deserve it. Thanks for passing it along to us as well. You are very sweet to do that. Megan

  4. Wow I'm so honor! Thanks so much for the award Connie! You are the greatest!

I'm so sorry to hear about the fybromyalgia too. I hope you are feeling good today :) Thanks again!

  5. I am so sorry that you are suffering with fybro, I hope that your good days far out number your bad days.

Thank you so much for the nomination!

  6. My Aunt has that too and it has been VERY difficult for her to even get up in the morning and she can't even shop by herself. My heart goes out to you!! So sorry! I love that you are willing to share that and let other folks out there that they are not alone!

Thanks for passing on the Versatile blogger Award - I am honored =-)

  7. I so sorry to hear about your struggles with fybromyalgia. That's a hard one.

Congratulations on receiving the award and thank you so much for passing it onto us! What an honor!

  8. Wow .... I'm without words (Believe me, that doesn't happen very often LOL) ... I'm very glad I could pass this award on to you, Connie. You are so deserving and inspiring. Your post just goes to show, you never really know what someone is going through. I will pray that you suffer less and your days are easier. I cannot imagine how it feels. Congratulations on the award, and I'm so blessed to have you as a bloggy friend! :)

  9. Gosh, thanks. This is my 1st bloggy award. Praying you can take it easy and find time for those sweet grandkids.

  10. Hope you can find good medical support so you can feel as good as possible and spend as much time as you want with the little ones. I also nominated you this week for the Versatile Blogger Award so congrats again.

  11. This post and the reissued one from yesterday were hard for me to read because of all the heartache you suffered. However, they are also stories that prove how strong families can weather any storm because members are there for each other. My guess is that you, Connie, have been the source of this closeness. I admire the way you model cheerful, unselfish service to others while you cope with your own health issues. I join the others who have mentioned that they will pray for your recovery and return to pain free activity.

  12. congratulations on the award!

I have a friend with that sorry. I know it gives her trouble in the winter alot :(

  13. Everyone; I thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me! One day I will write more about this issue because I would like to shed some light on a mostly misunderstood disease. I would also like to share how I cope with it as perhaps I could help someone. Thank you all again! You are the best!

  14. Thank you so much for nominating me! You are too, sweet! I know the food allergies have to be tough!

  15. My sister has fybromyalgia and I think you are so wise to realize that you need to slow down. Although, I know it hard to not have all those children around. I think this is one of those very misunderstood conditions so more information from someone actually struggling with it would be great.

Thanks for nominating me for the award. I'm truly honored.

    1. Yes I do want to write more about how I deal with it and how it affects me. One thing I have been curious about is the long term out comes. Most of everything thats out about it talks about the first few years. I want to know about what to expect years from now.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to leave a comment!
