I will be hosting Wow Us Wednesday tomorrow but I know most
of you will be out enjoying the holiday. That’s ok, I would be too if it wasn’t
110 degrees here! We’ll celebrate at night; all set up in my driveway to watch
the fireworks show that will be just a few blocks away with crafts and rootbeer floats. Now a short story.
I was driving two of my granddaughters to a Fourth of July program
at church. We were using mom’s car that has a drop down DVD player that I refuse
to use whenever I am chauffeuring the kids around. I would rather talk to the kids;
tell stories, sing songs, do anything but have them watch that thing in the car
too.
(Sigh) I now have a new reason to dislike that DVD player in
the car. Happy Fourth of July everyone!
What are your Fourth of
July plans?Copyright© Family Home and Life 2012 All Rights Reserved
No big plans here - fly the flag, remember what it means, and enjoy the day. There are 850,000 expected visitors to the state so the one thing we do is stay off the highways and byways where you can find your self in an interstate parking lot. Happy 4th to you.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of people, I think I would stay home too. Seems the weather here is cooling down so we may head out with the grandkids to have some fun after all.
DeleteSpending a quiet day at home. Making Chicago style hot dogs for dinner.
ReplyDeleteI love a quiet day at home. dogs for dinner are great :)
DeleteJust staying home and trying to keep the cats from freaking out completely! In our city fireworks are legal for 3 very long days. On a normal evening we hear the fireworks at Disneyland at 9:30 every night and the cats don't even "hear" them anymore but when all the neighbors around you start setting them off it is another thing! It does make it easy to just step outside and look up -- they will be everywhere tonight. And Twiggy, Twursula and Shebee will all be hiding under one of the beds. Hope you have a wonderful 4th!
ReplyDeleteHow did the cats do? I can't imagine the fireworks every night, I never thought about the neighborhoods close to Disneyland.
DeleteLOL ice age 4
ReplyDeletecracked me up!
for sure, you never know what will come out of a childs mouth ;)
DeleteHurray for you for resisting our national screen addiction. I try, too. We have never had a DVD player in our car. I have only one TV in my house, and I almost never watch it, although I did finally give in and start watching Downton Abbey.
