Remember that garage sale stuff I bought a while back? There were a couple of Pool Noodles in the pile that I re-purposed. It was fun and I found several uses for them around the house. I could have used a few more!
I'm afraid you won't find me carrying heavy buckets of water to mop with anymore but I still carry a bucket now and then to garden. How about on your paint can handle? Those are not always fun to carry when they are full.
Somehow my toes or those of the man of the house always seem to catch the bed legs, often in the middle of the night. It's not so bad anymore covered with a pool noodle. If you don't care for the color, cover it with a decorative duct tape, washi tape or even fabric.
I often fold a sweater over a hanger or place it in a drawer, then it gets all wrinkled. A pool noodle will solve that problem. I did need to work out a couple of issues though and I tell you about it on the following pics.
Covering the noodles with a strip of pretty fabric wound around them would also work.
I love this one for slacks but they would roll right off. The noodle rolled because of the weight on one side of the slacks. I also have a solution for that below.
Below are a few more ideas I found that I thought were worth mentioning.
How about a guard on the shopping cart when you have baby with you? See it at Baby Center Blog.Make a wreath base; super easy with some tape and very inexpensive too; I found one at My Sister's Suitcase.
I saw this idea for a headboard and while it is very creative I don't really like how it looks for my decor. If the noodle sections were wrapped with fabric and mounted on a board instead of the wall then I think it would be wonderful. By the way, that last link has many pool noodle uses.
I link at these parties.

The hanger idea is brilliant ... especially since some hangers make creases in your clothing that you don't want!

ReplyDeleteWell, shut the front door -- I never would have thought of doing this! I have made a wreath with a pool noodle. I'm also thinking about the one that you have pants hanging on -- that would be perfect for tablecloths so they don't get that extra fold line. Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteTable cloths would be great on a noodle! I hadn't thought of that one ;)

ReplyDeleteLove your ideas for pool noodles. You can cut one lengthwise in half completely and lean it against something like a chair or sofa. Put the other ends together with toothpicks and lean into a shoe box....you can use this for a racetrack for marbles.
ReplyDeleteWe may have met by chance..but we become friends by choice.

These are awesome tips for the pool noodles!
ReplyDeleteThey're also great to stuff inside soft boots to keep them standing up straight (just cut to size).
ReplyDeleteI also saw somewhere the idea of putting them under a fitted sheet on a bed (near the edge on the side(s) to keep little ones from falling out of bed...
