Bakers Dozen Cake Recipes

What is a celebration without a cake? Can't celebrate without cake right? There are so many different kinds and different ways to bake them frost them, decorate them, and we all have our favorites. Today I have 13 cakes, a bakers dozen, for you to enjoy. I'm sure you will find one you just love and perhaps plan to use it for one of your life's celebrations.

funfetti cake batter ice cream cake

Your Home Based Mom says her cake, Funfetti Cake Batter Ice Cream Cake is a real hit with all the kids for their birthday. I can see why can't you? So festive! Perfect for a summer birthday.

Have you heard of Hummingbird Cake? Well this one is from Caramel Potatoes and it's baked in a bundt pan. This is a much easier recipe and method, and one you should try. So good.

Also from Caramel Potatoes is this nice Sheet Cake Carrot Cake. I read the recipe and it sounds like a winner!

I have to tell you that this is one way I would have never thought of to bake or rather make a cake! Really?  In a sandwich maker? Featherlight  Vanilla Cake from With A Blast.

This cake is also new to me - King Cake. Very different and at all a typical cake. You can find the recipe at Diana Rambles.

I start to drool just reading the recipe on this one! Key Lime Sheet Cake and it is from Diana Rambles too. It has cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk people! You know it's good!

3 ingredients are all you need for this nice little cake. It is called Washington's Cherry Birthday cake and you will find the recip at Around The Table

A Peek Into My Paradise shared a Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake at Wow Us Wednesday and I have to say that this is my kind of cake; not too fussy and good as all get out!

Also from A Peek Into My Paradise is a single serving cake or a 1 2 3 Cake. These are popular and it is so easy to make a quick snack when you have a sweet tooth. Seriously easy! You have to try it!

This was one of the very first cakes I learned to make as a young bride. A Pineapple Upside down Cake in a cast iron skillet. So easy, so good, and with that touch of nostalgia that takes me back to my grandma's farm on a summer July evening. This one comes from Yesterfood, go check it out there.

Our Old Homestead shared a recipe for Sharon's Spice Cake. Spice cake is not as common as it use to be but it should be. Simple and easy and so delicious; and she includes a recipe for Caramel frosting! Can't beat that :)

Try One New Recipe a Week-Bed and Breakfast Cherry Crumb Coffee Cake

Everyone should have a good coffee cake recipe in their collection and this just might be the one you are looking for; it is a Cherry Crumb Coffee Cake from Simplee Sue.

Here is one last cake, Chocolate Cherry Cheese Cake. So good and Carissa Miss makes it look easy with a great tutorial.

  16. Oh how fun! I love the Funfetti cake! I love cake but for some strange reason my family doesn't. Isn't that odd? The kids just don't seem to eat it and my hubby will eat one slice and he's done. So I almost never make cake as it goes to waste.

However, I can make it as a dessert to bring to church events and stuff so thanks for the suggestions. Also thanks for linking up to the "Making Your Home Sing Monday" linky party today! :)
