Fall has arrived! Though you might not know it from our
temps here today! I heard it will be around 106 today! Around here we start to get a little giddy at the
thought of cooler temperatures and look forward to getting outside more, and
perhaps with a little fall gardening; or hiking in one of the local
mountain preserves here. I look forward to it all, but now is the time that I
start putting into action my Family Harvest Day plans.
I must confess I have been slow this year about
getting the ball rolling, but I have given it a little push and things are moving along.
We usually make Scarecrows at our Harvest Day as a group project. You will find
my tutorial how to make a Scarecrow from last year here at this link.
Do you have fall plans? Is there a special way you
celebrated the changing seasons with activities, home décor, or outings? How
about visits to the pumpkin patch or farmers markets? Do you do something
special for Halloween?
Thanks for coming by today! I hope you enjoy linking up and/or reading all my linkers today! Stop back in a day or so to check out new linkers ok? And don’t forget to leave them some comment love so they know you were there.
Add your link here every Saturday at
Grandparent's Say It Saturday.
Please link up to three post, not to
your home page, and link that back to Family Home and Life. While you are here I
hope you will visit the other linkers and come back to see who links up later.
We all love comments! No Etsy shops or giveaways please. This link closes on
Monday night. Be sure to visit Lisa at Grandma's Briefs to join her linky, GRAND Social, on Mondays. Thanks for linking up with me!

Thanks so much for hosting. I will be back later on to see who's doing what! Have a wonderful weekend. I host a linky party on Tuesday called The Gathering Spot and would love it if you would share something sometime :)http://mamaldiane.com/the-gathering-spot-21/
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane, I'll add your linky to my list.
DeleteIn Michigan today it's 60 and raining. Time to wish we had back the 104 from last July!
ReplyDeleteWe do family fall events, but they are centered around Halloween. Pumpkin carving and a party for my adult kids is the usual, but this year I am adding a spin on your Harvest Day idea with one of my own...dinner and a craft with everybody!
I can't what to hear about your Family Halloween Harvest Day ;)
DeleteSouthern California is finally getting the extreme heat everyone else got earlier this summer but today we are back to low 90s. Fall? Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for hosting the party for all of us!
ReplyDeleteI hope the temps don't heat up on you again.
DeleteOh, the triple digits you Arizonians suffer. Blech! Will be in the upper 70s here today and I'm loving it. Off to buy some craft supplies for the Halloween craft Bubby requested we do when I visit in two weeks. That's TWO WEEKS! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Yay for the 2 weeks! You will be showing us pics of the crafts you make with him right?
DeleteConnie, In response to your question about the glasses.
ReplyDeleteYes, we always take as many glasses as we can when we go to do a medical mission, sometimes we send a sea container ahead of time. We have a native optometrist who can fit used glasses for the people. Also, just plain reading glasses are very useful because many of the people just can't see up close. Any one wishing to donate used glasses can send them to me and they will be put to good use. E-mail me for my address. Blessings to you.
