Grandparent's Say It Saturday

Hello bloggy friends! I had quite the workout this week....meet my workout partners! Oldest will be 7 yrs old in a month, youngest will be 2 yrs old in 2 months. Time flies doesn't it?

They are a wild and crazy crew! Yes some of them are missing but that's most of them. I was so thrilled to get them still long enough for a couple of pics! They keep me in shape around here. If they didn't visit so often, I would have to get a gym membership! Look how they are growing; that sofa is looking smaller and so is my house! We may need to up-size to hold all the grand kids one day. Already purchased the larger vehicle, maybe we need to re-think the house now. My oh my what we won't do for love!

How about you, what kind of changes did you make to your life style because of the grand ones? Different car? Did you move? Vacations at grand kids house now?

This is a link up for older bloggers; but you don't need to be a grandparent to link up. Link up to three post, not to your home page, and link that back to Family Home and Life. (or  please place a link or button somewhere on your blog) While you are here I hope you will visit the other linkers and come back to see who links up later. We all love comments! No Etsy shops or giveaways please. This link closes on Monday night.
Be sure to visit Lisa at Grandma's Briefs to join her linky, GRAND Social, on Mondays. Thank you for linking up with me!

  1. That IS a crew and each one is so darn cute! I am laughing at your question...I bet if I started a list I would fill a whole tablet...starting with all of the baby equipment, rocking chair, and on and on and on in the last four years! :)

    1. I am wondering what's coming when they reach their teens. I just purchased a couple of computer games! Eeek!

  2. How cute can you get? Sure they look like a "busy" crew, but they're the reason YOU are so young, happy, creative, and fun! (and to be honest, I suppose we could add "tired" - but hey, it's sooo worth it!)
They are adorable and you are so blessed - which, of course, you already know!

  3. I have to agree with Debra...that is SOME crew and a lively bunch at that! I bet they keep you on your toes Grandma! The changes I have made...the pocketbook is now empty at all times. The plane tickets are killing me♥ Thank you for this fun party.

    1. I am so thankful mine are all here in AZ, and yes, my pocketbook is lighter too.

  4. Oh, those kiddos are growing. And they're getting more and more adorable by the minute. I can only imagine how much of a workout they are! Don't know how you do it. My two make me weary by the end of the day when I'm with them. But as I don't get to be with them often, it's a welcome weariness.

    Thank you for hosting!

    1. Oh I am weary at the end of the day! I sit now Mon-Thurs and by Thurs afternoon I am watching the clock for their mamas and daddy's to come! Then I collapse and it takes me a couple of days to recover! I love it :)

  5. What wonderful pictures! You do have a great crew. In answer to your question about what changes we made because we became grandparents -- we moved! When Amara was born we lived about 6 miles from the kids. Doesn't sound like much but in southern California traffic that could sometimes mean an hour to get there. So we moved to one easy mile away and we have always been happy we did!

    1. I hear you about the time and distance. One of my sons moved 4 miles away after they lived a mile away for a few years. It makes a difference for sure with the traffic and traffic lights! Especially when some important have to have item gets left behind and I need to return it!

  6. So many! So lucky! Our Sweet E is small, so no changes yet, except more road trips!

    1. Yes there are a lot so close together. I have to admit I am kind of in the overwhelmed stage right now. I miss the luxury of spending relaxed time with just one or two. some days it seems all I do all day is change diapers, feed and clean up and break up fights all day! I can do that on the weekends but I need the weekend to recover form the week!

  7. Isn't it grand having our very own personal trainers! My have been slacking a bit the last few months - due to bad weather outside. But I've told them they need to crank it up once spring hits coz my jeans are getting a tad snug! :) Have a lovely time change weekend and HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY next week!

    1. yes it is grand, if I didn't have them my jeans would be overly snug all the time and I would spend way too much time in that recliner I am afraid!

  8. What would I do for my grandkids? I moved to Arizona! Always swore I'd NEVER live here! Ha. Grandkids take precedence over everything!

    1. I have told my husband I will NEVER move unless all the kids come with us! Sometimes in the summer when it's so hot, we both want to leave but know it won't happen. I bet you are glad you moved!

  9. Hi Connie,
I always enjoy your blog and link party. And I have a question.
This last week I've been going through all my link parties to make sure I'm following the host's rules. I wanted to ask you if it's okay to have your button permanently on my side bar without having a link in each post I link up. Please let me know. Thanks, Gail

  10. They are adorable, Connie! And I thought three Littles at once was a workout! My Honda Pilot holds two carseats and one booster seat! Cuts down on taking gal pals to lunch...but great for stashing milk and groceries! Plane tickets to CA are always messing up the budget.....plus the $ we spend to hang there! (car, bikes, tubs of clothes) Our guestroom became the kids' room as posters and toys and kid size chairs moved in. We had huge homes while our two were growing up; bought the smaller empty nester a year before #1 arrived! But we make it work. Twins are now five and I miss those workouts of lifting and buckling into seats, corraling, manhandling, chasing, crawling on all fours to play doggy! Enjoy while you can! You're so lucky to have them ALL nearby! :)

    1. Yes I am a blessed Gramma! The car seats do make good grocery holders don't they?!

  11. What an adorable crew! How on earth do you keep up?!!

We bought a 4 door car, since the car/toddler seats weren't safe in our 2 door. We redecorated and have a 'dedicated' Grandkids sleepover bedroom, and just about every piece of baby/toddler equipment imaginable. Yep, a high chair has been a permanent fixture in my dining room for the better part of 5 years now.

And of course, our cupboards are stocked with their favorite foods...

  13. Our first and only grandchild is just a year old and we baby sit him three times a week while Mom works. I, too, gave up my gym membership...and have never been in better shape! LOL Thanks for hosting Grandparents Say it Saturday.

    1. You twist and turn, stretch and bend in ways you never would do with out the kids around! Best work out there is and it's a happy one.

  14. Oddly enough, we bought a bigger house. It wasn't because of grandchildren, our younger son was still in college and older not yet married. We wanted to live on the water and found a house on a creek, farther out of town, that was three times the size of the house we raised our two children in. I read later that about 20% of people move to a bigger house when their children are grown. Well, six months after we bought it, my Mom moved in with us for two years. And, now, when grown children and grandchildren visit, there is plenty of room.

    1. Well that worked out great then. I wish I would have realized I would need all that extra space when we down sized; that was before grand kids of course. When you have a severe case of empty nest syndrome you can't see beyond the end of your nose (I couldn't at least). But we make it do and it is a house full of noisy fun!
